Russians or Vsh new beekeeper

I am going with natural beekeping but there is not alot of advice on managment practices for ether Russians or Vsh. Some people claim that russians are not a good choice for beginners but I cannot see having to change managment practices from other stock, old habits are hard to brake. Anyone that has experience with either stock that could share advise would be grestly apreciated Thank you.
